Constitution Day is an annual celebration to mark the day in 1787 when the delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the U.S. Constitution in Philadelphia. It will be observed at Vermont Law and Graduate School in South Royalton on Sept. 18 with a panel discussion including some of Vermont’s finest legal minds. (Chase Center, 5 to 6 PM).
The panel will discuss, “Cornerstone of Democracy: Civics, Civility, and Collaboration.” Our speakers will be:
The Hon. Supreme Court Chief Justice Paul Reiber,
The Hon. Supreme Court Associate Justice, Nancy Waples,
The Hon. Kirstin Schoonover, Vermont Superior Court
The Hon. Timothy Tomasi, Vermont Superior Court
Professor Peter Teachout, Vermont Law School
Robert Fletcher Esq., immediate past president of the Vermont Bar Association, will be moderating the panel.
The event is free and open to the public. Come in person or watch the livestream at vermontlaw.edu/live.
Pocket constitutions will be handed out and there will be an opportunity to ask questions of the panelists after the presentation.
