The official kick-off of the 10th Annual Vermont Legal Community Fighting Hunger Food and Diaper Drive is almost upon us. The deadline for signing up is Thursday, Sept. 3. All the details, including the sign-up sheet, can be found in this announcement from Attorney General Charity Clark.
The Drive will run for two weeks from Sept. 4 to Sept. 19, 2026. The effort is sponsored by the Attorney General’s Office, the Vermont Foodbank, the Vermont Bar Association, and the Vermont Paralegal Organization. In the past ten years, these groups, along with legal professionals around the state, have raised more than $99,000 and collected more than 14,000 food items and other nonperishable items, such as diapers, for our neighbors in need.
In this 10th anniversary year let’s see if we can break some records! We have all heard about the challenges our neighbors are facing to meet their basic needs.
As ever, we encourage a little friendly competition. The most successful food (and diaper) raising groups will be recognized at the luncheon at the VBA’s Annual Meeting on Friday, Sept. 25 at the Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee.
