The official name of the event is actually the “M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon & Relay” but whatever you call it, the race happens every Memorial Day Weekend in Burlington and is Vermont’s biggest sporting event. Mark your calendars for Sunday, May 25th.
The start (7:15 AM) and finish will be in Waterfront Park, Burlington. The entire course is within Burlington so there are lots of places to watch and cheer. Here’s a link to the course map and here’s one for the spectator guide.
The VBA’s Young Lawyers Division is fielding two teams of relay racers, and they would love to see supporters from our legal community along the course or afterwards at Foam Brewers on Lake Street (more on that below).
The YLD teams (subject to adjustment and additions) are expected to include: Danielle Simpson, Colette Schmidt, Tyler Gorbett, Sebastian Arduengo, Megan Calla, Mark Seltzer, Alex Hunter, Stephen Brown, Elaine Jones and Ryan Long.
Our racers have a plan for an apres-race (informal unofficial) gathering at Foam Brewers at 112 Lake Street, probably beginning around noon or 12:30 PM. Again, law friends are urged to attend.
Now is also a good time to make your plans to attend the YLD Spring Mixer on Thursday, May 29th at the Three Penny Tap Room, 108 Main St., Montpelier. It runs from 5 to 8 PM and all are welcome!
