Nominations for the three State Bar seats on the Judicial Nominating Board will take place on the floor at the VBA Annual Meeting on Sept. 25 at Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee.
Members in attendance at the business meeting that day will nominate candidates for the Bar seats on the JNB. Elections will be held early next year. One seat represents southern counties (Addison, Bennington, Orange, Rutland, Windham & Windsor). A second represents northern counties (Caledonia, Chittenden, Essex, Franklin, Grand Isle, Lamoille, Orleans, & Washington). The third is an at-large seat.

Nominees may also be added by petition signed by no less than thirty-six members of the Bar residing in the state (see generally 4 VSA § 601 and Administrative Order 1).
Vermont attorneys residing in Vermont will elect the three state bar members from among the nominees in January 2027. The Court Administrator’s Office coordinates the election process.
