Corsones and Fitzsimons is looking for a highly motivated, experienced litigation paralegal to help grow with the firm. The candidate will perform the following duties:
– Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as stipulations, briefs, and pleadings
– Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
– Review and proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
– Maintain document management systems and organize case files
– Draft correspondence and communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
– Transcribe dictations and prepare legal memos or summaries
– Assist in the preparation of trial materials and exhibits
– Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments
– Perform general clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, and scanning
– Upload filings with the Vermont Judiciary
The following qualifications are preferred:
– Proven experience as a paralegal or legal assistant
– Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation
– Proficient in legal drafting and writing skills
– Familiarity with document management systems and software
– Excellent research skills
– Attention to detail and ability to proofread accurately
– Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
– Proficiency in with Adobe, Microsoft, and the Vermont Judiciary Electronic filing system
– Professional phone etiquette and client service orientation
– Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
