Contract Attorney – Vermont Title Review
Albertelli Law (ALAW) is seeking a licensed Vermont attorney to join our network as an Independent Contract Attorney supporting post-closing title review operations for residential real estate transactions.
The selected attorney will review post-closing title packages to confirm all requirements have been satisfied prior to issuance of an attorney title opinion. This role is ideal for attorneys seeking flexible, production-based work that can be completed remotely on their own schedule.
Role Summary
Following the closing of residential real estate transactions, the attorney will review standardized approval checklists, title search updates, recorded documents, and curative documentation to ensure compliance with Vermont title requirements and underwriting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review post-closing title packages for accuracy and completeness
- Analyze title search updates, recorded documents, and curative items
- Verify all required conditions and checklist items have been satisfied
- Approve compliant files and provide attorney sign-off for issuance of title opinions
- Reject deficient files with clear corrective instructions for resubmission
- Maintain accuracy, organization, and timely turnaround of assigned files
- Communicate professionally with internal teams and title partners as needed
Requirements
- Active license to practice law in Vermont required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
- Comfortable reviewing legal and real estate-related documentation
- Prior real estate, title, mortgage, or closing experience preferred but not required
