Carroll, Boe & Kite, P.C. seeks a full-time Associate Attorney with 5 to 10 years of experience to join our team. We are a small, busy law firm that helps lenders, business entities, nonprofit entities, municipalities, and individuals throughout the State of Vermont. Our practice includes a vibrant mix of matters related to small business, commercial lending, commercial and residential real estate, estate planning, trusts and estates, probate and trust administration, civil litigation, civil rights defense, and municipal law.
We are seeking a dedicated, skilled, and ambitious Vermont Attorney. Our ideal candidate is a personable and collaborative self-starter who is detailed-oriented with strong organizational skills and who is able to manage multiple matters efficiently. The successful candidate will be expected to address ongoing matters on an immediate basis. We offer the successful candidate a collaborative, collegial, and family-friendly work environment, as well as the long-term flexibility to forge their own professional path. A business background is strongly preferred but is not required.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Managing a high volume of matters from inception to resolution with precision, organization, and independence.
- Collaborating effectively and cooperatively with all members of the firm, including attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
- Engaging directly with clients to understand and meet their legal needs.
- Offering timely, pertinent, and focused legal counsel.
- Working civilly and professionally with opposing counsel and other third parties.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and other business documents and/or writing persuasive pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents, informed by thorough factual and legal research.
- Travelling within and without the State as necessary to meet with clients and participate in closings and/or represent clients at court hearings, trials and mediations.
Qualifications:
- A license to practice law in the State of Vermont
- Commitment to the legal profession
- Five to 10 years of relevant legal experience
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- A strong commitment to professional and ethical values
- A reliable vehicle and the willingness to travel as needed
- Preferably, a business background
Compensation and Benefits:
- Anticipated annual salary range of $75,000 to $90,000, with health insurance and retirement benefits
