603 Legal Aid seeks an experienced Staff Attorney to join our Hope for Heroes initiative, providing free civil legal services to New Hampshire Veterans experiencing or at risk of housing instability. The attorney will maintain an active caseload and provide legal advice and representation involving Veterans’ benefits, housing, income support, discharge upgrades, and other civil legal matters. The role includes obtaining VA accreditation, conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, and representing clients in VA and other legal systems. The attorney will also provide services through community-based outreach and a monthly medical-legal partnership with a local VA medical campus.
In addition to direct representation, this position will coordinate Hope for Heroes program activities, support grant compliance and reporting, and develop relationships with Veteran-serving organizations and community partners. The successful candidate will be admitted to practice in New Hampshire or eligible for admission within one year of hire and have experience in litigation, client representation, and/or legal advising, along with a demonstrated commitment to public interest law and serving individuals with low incomes. The position is full-time and based in Concord, NH, with a hybrid schedule after an initial 90-day introductory period.
