Family Law Attorney
WISE is seeking a staff family law attorney to provide trauma-informed legal advice and pro bono representation to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. The attorney will deliver civil legal services related to the aftermath of interpersonal violence, including full representation and case consultations. In addition, the role involves close collaboration with the WISE advocacy team, offering legal guidance and helping to strengthen best practices for survivor-centered legal advocacy. The attorney will also cultivate relationships with area attorneys, law firms, and legal service providers to enhance the WISE Legal Services Program and expand available support for survivors.
This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position based at our Program Center in Lebanon, NH, with some remote work flexibility. WISE offers a competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience ($65,000-80,000). Additional benefits include generous vacation time, 100% employer-paid health insurance premiums for full-time employees (pro-rated for part-time), and employer retirement contributions.
WISE is a nonprofit organization that provides crisis advocacy and support for people and communities affected by domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking, and trafficking within 23 towns of the Upper Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont. Candidates must be a member of the Vermont Bar and able to practice law in Vermont. Experience with family law and an understanding of domestic and sexual violence is preferred but not necessary.
