One of the primary issues e-filers have had using the Odyssey system has been duplicative and erroneous information inadvertently entered into the “Public Contacts List” used for the “File and Serve” function of service in Odyssey. It wasn’t made clear until the recent amendments to the Vermont Rules of Electronic Filing and training associated with the amendments* that e-filers should enter only their own (or others in their firm, if they are the firm administrator) service contact information. We’ve also learned that if an e-filer enters another e-filer’s service contact information, only the e-filer who entered the information can remove it from the Public Contacts List. Failing to remove the information has resulted in duplicative service contact information on the Public Contacts List in many instances.
Thank you to everyone who has removed service contact information that they entered for e-filers besides themselves or others in their firm. If you have not yet done so, please take the following steps to help clear up duplications and errors in the Public Contacts List:
- Log into the Odyssey site by clicking HERE . Click “Sign In”.
- Click “Actions.”
- Click “Firm Service Contacts.”
- A list of the service contacts you have entered will appear.
- If any of the service contacts are not you or someone in your firm that you were authorized to enter, click “Action” to the right of that service contact.
- Click “Delete Contact”.
- A notice indicating the number of cases to which the service contact is attached will appear, with a statement that deleting a service contact cannot be undone.
- Click “Delete”.
- Repeat for however many service contacts are relevant to this request.
Thank you for your help in cleaning up the Public Contacts List! If you or your firm administrator has not yet entered your own service contact information, please do so now.
