Job Title: Administrative Assistant

Summary:
Come work in Vermont’s capital city! The Vermont Bar Association is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to the Executive Director and other staff. The ideal candidate will have excellent phone skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and be able to work independently and as part of a team. Job training would begin mid-late July.
Responsibilities:
- Answering and directing phone calls
- Provide administrative support to the Lawyer Referral Service, which connects members of the public with qualified lawyers in their area of need
- Assist with bar association in-person meetings and events. Work includes preparing name tags, assembling folders, assisting attendees by answering their questions, and other duties as assigned
- Securely collecting credit card information
- Greeting and assisting visitors
- Preparing and maintaining files and records
- Overseeing procurement of goods and services
- Arranging travel and accommodations
- Providing administrative support to the Executive Director, and other staff
- Serve as the liaison between the Vermont Bar Association Board and our members
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is a positive, detail-oriented team player, who can handle diverse and divergent personalities. An ideal candidate will also have fantastic verbal and written communication skills. Not a requirement, but some coding skills would be a plus.
Other Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of administrative experience (preferred)
- Excellent phone skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- A good sense of humor (!)
