Financial Director I – Office of the Defender General
The Office of the Defender General (ODG) is seeking an experienced and motivated Financial Director to lead the financial operations of our collegial department. This management position operates with considerable independence and reports directly to the Defender General.
In this management position you will have responsibility for overseeing all fiscal activities of the ODG and ensuring the department’s financial integrity. You will be responsible for the ODG’s budget development, preparation, and maintenance, including preparing annual budget projections and contingency planning, analyzing special patterns, and advising the Defender General and other members of the management team about the status of the department’s finances and needed adjustments, reviewing past expenditures for particular line items, and projecting future needs. As the financial lead for the department, you will also assist in performing short and long-range planning to achieve the ODG’s goals and objectives. You will also support the department by taking responsibility for contract administration, following the State of Vermont’s contracting procedures.
