The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Vermont is seeking a highly qualified candidate to serve as an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) in the Civil Division.

Civil Division AUSAs are responsible for representing the federal government and its agencies and employees in civil litigation in the District. Our practice is incredibly diverse, including torts, health care fraud, bankruptcy, environmental matters, employment discrimination, immigration, commercial litigation (including collections), and challenges to federal agency actions, among others. This position will be dedicated primarily to handling defensive litigation, though affirmative civil enforcement assignments are possible depending on the needs of the Division.   An AUSA’s pay is administratively determined, in part, by years of professional attorney experience.  The range of pay is $70,180 – $183,400 which includes 18.31% locality pay.   A background investigation will be required.  Women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and veterans are encouraged to apply.
