Volunteer Poll Workers Wanted!

Because many Vermont poll workers may have concerns about working in-person at polling stations in November, the VBA and the Vermont Secretary of State’s Office are partnering to encourage willing lawyers and law students to contact their local town or city clerk’s offices to volunteer as poll workers for the November elections.

Poll worker duties include checking in and checking out voters, processing paper and absentee ballots, assisting with accessibility voting, and compliance with any Health Department protocols at the polling stations. Training is provided by the individual town clerk offices.

Any Vermont lawyer or law student who is interested in volunteering to be a poll worker in November should contact their local Town or City Clerk’s office to provide their contact information and to undertake the necessary training.
