Ian Carleton and Anne Day to Receive VBA Pro Bono Award

The Vermont Bar Association is proud to announce that attorneys Ian P. Carleton and Anne W. Day will receive the 2019 Pro Bono Service Award at the VBA’s mid-year meeting at Lake Morey Resort on March 22. 

Ian P. Carleton is a litigator with Sheehey Furlong & Behm, PC, in Burlington.  He represents clients in civil and criminal matters with a focus is on medical and legal malpractice and intellectual property. Attorney Carleton was nominated for the Pro Bono Award by Judge Nancy Waples, who cited his volunteer work ranging from serving as guardian ad litem in family court, to his pro bono work in federal criminal defense cases. 

Anne W. Day is pro bono emeritus attorney who volunteers regularly for Vermont Legal Aid’s Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic. Attorney Day was nominated for the Pro Bono Award by Attorney Sandra Paritz, Director of Legal Aid’s Poverty Law Project who noted that Anne had donated 254 pro bono hours in 2018 alone through her work with low income taxpayers.
