Four Judicial Appointments Announced

Governor Scott announced the appointment of three VBA members as Superior Court judges: David A. Barra, Scot L. Kline and Megan J. Shafritz.  Court assignments will be announced once the appointees are sworn in. Barra, of Essex, practices at David A. Barra PLC, focusing on tort and land use litigation.  He was a partner at Unsworth & Barra, PLC for nearly 20 years before that.  Scot Kline, also of Essex, is the general counsel at Vermont DFR, having served as chief of the Environmental Protection Division for nearly a decade before moving to the DFR.  Shafritz, of South Burlington, has served as an assistant Attorney General since 2009, where she was Chief of the Civil Division. Governor Scott also appointed Alicia Sacerio Humbert as Family Division magistrate, assigned primarily to Caledonia, Essex, Orleans and Washington Counties. Humbert has been an attorney at the Vermont DCF, Office of Child Support, for nearly two decades.  Congratulations to all four appointees!
