NOTICE OF FEDERAL JUDICIAL VACANCY
AND APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Following Judge Sessions’ announcement that he will assume senior status in June, a nine-person Judicial Nominating Commission has been established to vet applicants for the United States District Court Judge for the District of Vermont vacancy. The following persons were appointed to the Commission by Senator Leahy, Senator Sanders, and the Vermont Bar Association, respectively:

Any member of the Vermont Bar in good standing is eligible to apply for the United States District Court Judge for the District of Vermont vacancy. Please note the following:
The chambers of the new U.S. District Court Judge will be in the United States Courthouse in Rutland
Completed Questionnaires must be submitted electronically as set out below using the United States District Court for the District of Vermont Application Procedure and Questionnaire. Applications must be completed and submitted by 5:00 P.M. on Friday, February 21, 2014.
Interviews with selected applicants will be conducted on March 10-11, 2014 at the Burlington Hilton, 60 Battery Street, Burlington, VT
All applicants should reserve these dates. The Commission will notify all applicants whether or not they have been selected for interviews on or about March 5. Please note that due to the expected number of applicants, the Commission will not interview each qualified candidate. The Commission will apply the American Bar Associations Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary’s “Well-Qualified” standard in determining the most qualified applicants.
